MIGNONETTE SAUCE

How to make delicious mignonette sauce!

Ingredients:

  • 1 shallot, peeled and minced.

  • 1 tsp. freshly cracked black pepper.

  • 1 cup red wine vinegar.

  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice.

 

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Shallot: Peel and finely mince 1 shallot.

  2. Crack Black Pepper: Measure 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper.

  3. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the minced shallot and cracked black pepper.

  4. Add Red Wine Vinegar: Pour 1 cup of red wine vinegar into the bowl with the shallot and black pepper.

  5. Squeeze Lemon Juice: Add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to the mixture.

  6. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the ingredients together until well combined.

  7. Refrigerate: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the mignonette sauce to a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate the sauce until you are ready to serve it with oysters.

  8. Serve: When ready, spoon the mignonette sauce over freshly shucked oysters and enjoy!

This recipe makes approximately 1 cup of delicious Mignonette Sauce.

Note:

Feel free to adjust the quantities of shallot, black pepper, or other ingredients according to your taste preferences. The mignonette sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days, allowing its flavors to meld and intensify.
