OYSTERS WITH GINGER AND ONIONS

Modify your oysters!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce.

  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch.

  • 1 tsp. sugar.

  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce.

  • Sesame oil.

  • ¼ cup water.

  • 3 tbsp. oil.

  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced.

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced.

  • 3-4 green onions, cut into 1 to 2-inch pieces, white and green parts separated.

  • 1 lb. oysters, drained.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, soy sauce, a few drops of sesame oil, and water. Set aside.

  2. Heat Oil: Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet until very hot.

  3. Stir-Fry Aromatics: Add the thinly sliced ginger, onion, and the white parts of the green onions to the hot oil. Cook briefly, stirring to infuse the oil with flavors.

  4. Add Oysters: Add the drained oysters to the wok or skillet. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Incorporate Sauce: Stir in the prepared sauce and add the green parts of the green onions. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until the sauce slightly thickens.

  6. Serve: Serve the Oysters with Ginger and Onions hot over rice.
