  • 12 oysters, shucked and rinsed.

  • Flour.

  • Salt and pepper to taste.

  • 12 strips bacon, fried until almost crisp.

  1. Prepare Oysters: Ensure that the 12 oysters are shucked and thoroughly rinsed.

  2. Season with Flour, Salt, and Pepper: Dust each oyster with flour, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Wrap with Bacon: Take a strip of bacon and wrap it around each oyster, securing the bacon in place with a toothpick. Make sure the bacon is wrapped snugly but not too tight.

  4. Preheat Broiler: Preheat your broiler for the next step.

  5. Broil the Angels on Horseback: Place the bacon-wrapped oysters on a broiling pan or a baking sheet. Broil for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the bacon becomes crisp and the oysters are cooked through. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  6. Serve: Once the bacon is crisp and the oysters are cooked to perfection, carefully remove them from the broiler.

  7. Remove Toothpicks: Before serving, make sure to remove the toothpicks from the Angels on Horseback.

  8. Optional Garnish: Garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
