Create your own sherried vinaigrette!


  1. 1 shallot, peeled and minced.

  2. 2 tbsp. dry sherry.

  3. 1 tsp. freshly cracked black pepper.

  4. 3/4 cup sherry vinegar.

  5. 1 tbsp. lemon juice.


  1. Prepare Shallot: Peel and finely mince 1 shallot.

  2. Add Dry Sherry: In a mixing bowl, combine the minced shallot with 2 tablespoons of dry sherry.

  3. Crack Black Pepper: Add 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper to the mixture.

  4. Incorporate Sherry Vinegar: Pour 3/4 cup of sherry vinegar into the bowl with the shallot, dry sherry, and black pepper.

  5. Add Lemon Juice: Squeeze 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice into the mixture.

  6. Mix Thoroughly: Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.

  7. Refrigerate: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the vinaigrette to a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate the vinaigrette until you are ready to serve it with oysters.

  8. Serve: When ready, spoon the Sherried Vinaigrette over freshly shucked oysters for a flavorful and tangy enhancement.

Yield: This recipe makes approximately enough Sherried Vinaigrette for a delightful serving of oysters.
